SCIENTIFIC STUDIES AND FINDINGS
Annie Hirazumi anti-cancer activity of noni on intraperitoneally implanted lewis lung carcinoma in syngenic mice A. Hirazumi, E. Furusawa, S.C. Chou & Y. Hokama Proc. West. Pharmocal. Soc. 37: 145-146 (1994)
The study was conducted on live laboratory mice (type C57BL/6) specifically identified as being acutely receptive to Lewis Lung Carcinoma (LLC) cells. The mice were injected with active cancer cells (LLC). Untreated, the mice died 9 -12 days after injection due to advanced tumor growth. A second group of infected mice was treated with Noni in five separate daily treatments. This group demonstrated a significantly increased life span, from 105 -123%, with 9 of 22 mice surviving more than 50 days. For verification purposes, the experiment was repeated with similar results. The research team concluded that Noni acts as an anti-cancer agent by indirectly enhancing the cancer host's immune system of macrophages and/or lymphocytes.
INDUCTION OF NORMAL PHENOTYPES IN RAS TRANSFORMED CELLS BY DAMNACANTHAL FROM NONI
T. Hiramatsu, M. Imoto, T Koyano, K. Umezawa Cancer Letters 73 (1993) 161-166
In this study, a team of Japanese researchers studied the effect of more than 500 extracts of tropical plants on K-ras NRK cells (a precursor to certain types of cancer). One particular compound, damnacanthal, found in Noni was shown to be an inhibitor of Ras function. During the course of the research Ras cells were seeded into 96 plates and incubated at 33 degrees centigrade for 24 hours. Noni plant extract was added and the cell morphology was examined every day for five days. The Ras function was inhibited by the injected plant extract. This same compound has been found to inhibit the Epstein-Barr virus early-antigen activation. The extract from the Noni was found to be most effective in inhibiting Ras function among the 500 tested extracts.
PHYTOCHEMICALS REVERSE
The power of phytochemicals to promote good health and control cancer is so impressive that the University of Illinois has created a whole new department with 63 scientists and professors to specialize in phytochemical research, Let me share with you some of the scientific findings leading to this major change in research. Senior Science Advisor to the U.S. Public Health Service, Dr. D.L. Davis states, phytochemicals can take tumors and defuse them, they can turn off the proliferative process of cancer. At Ohio State University's Cancer Prevention Laboratory, Dr. Mark Morse and colleagues found that phytochemicals in broccoli and Noni known as sulforaphane could reduce esophegeal tumor incidence by as much as 40% and reduce the multiplication of such cancer cells by 90%. Dr. Paul Taladay working at John Hopkins Medical Institute has found that this same phytochemical protected animals from getting cancer even when exposed to cancer causing chemicals. According to Dr. Joseph Hotchkiss of Cornell University, the phytochemicals coumaric acid and chlorogenic acid are able to eliminate many cancer causing substances from the body. An epidemiologist at the University of Minnesota, Dr. John Potter, told Newsweek Magazine, At almost every step along the pathway to cancer, phytochemicals slow up and or reverse the process. Most of these phytochemicals studied so far are found in ordinary vegetables and culinary herbs. The problem is that the amount in these foods is so low that only if you eat a lot of them for a long time will they give you protection. If you already have cancer, what you need is these phytochemicals in large enough amounts to go right to work, Noni has the phytochemicals to do that, they start working right away and has been recorded to start reversing the process of tumors and cancer within weeks.
HOW NONI HELPS THE BODY FIGHT
Researchers at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine introduced cells containing a strain of lung cancer known as Lewis Lung Carcinoma into a group of mice especially bred to be highly susceptible to this type of cancer. Within 9 to 12 days the mice which were given no Noni were all dead as a result of the growth of the tumor. However, another group of these same mice were given an extract of the Noni on five different occasions. At the end of the 12 days when all the untreated mice were dead, those given the Noni were still alive and doing well, At the end of 24 days, the Noni treated mice were all still going strong, this was a 100% extension of life, Actually, 40% which is 9 out of the 22 mice given the Noni survived for more than 50 days. This is a lifespan more than 4 times greater than the longest living mouse not receiving the Noni. This is an incredible achievement. Now remember, these were not just any mice, these mice were specifically bred to succumb to this form of cancer. In this regard, they were genetically doomed to be cancer victims. Yet in spite of this, a simple Noni extract gave these mice as much as 4 times the life span of their untreated relatives.
HOW NONI DID IT
I know you are as excited about what you just read as I am, but the best part may be how the Noni made this incredible achievement possible, Most people would just assume something in the Noni had killed the cancer cells. But like all good scientists, the researchers at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine wanted to know exactly how Noni had accomplished its miracle. What they found was quite surprising, and very important. They discovered that there is nothing in their Noni extract that killed the cancer cells but what they discovered was that there was a polysaccharide compound 6-D-glucopyranose pentaacetate found in the Noni that increased the ability of the immune system to produce chemicals that enhanced the killing power of the white blood cells. Do you realize the great significance of that discovery ? You see white blood cells have to kill many things besides cancer cells. They have to defend us against virus, bacteria, yeast, ameba, parasites and all types of invaders. Since this Noni, polysaccharide worked by increasing the overall killing power of the white blood cells, this means it will most likely enhance that same killing power against any invader. It indicates Noni is very likely an overall immune enhancing substance that may provide that extra power which gives you the winning edge when some invading organism attacks your body.
Japanese scientists were looking for a substance to fight cancer. They searched through over 500 different extracts from tropical plants looking for something which would inhibit the growth of RAS cancer cells. These are a particular type of fast growing and very malignant cancer cells that are hard to stop. Reporting in the journal Cancer Letters, the scientists stated that the Noni extract was by far the most effective at inhibiting and normalizing RAS transformed cancer cells. RAS is a normal part of the cell structure in every cell. It is a small protein which is part of the RNA of the cell and encodes for the reproduction of the cell. Only when it is activated by a carcinogenic protein within the cell does it trigger the cells to reproduce wildly. If you can turn off this uncontrolled RAS activity, you stop the cancers growth.8, 9. What the Japanese scientists found was that one of the phytochemicals in the Noni extract does exactly that, They found that it was the phytochemical in the Noni extract which goes by the fancy name of Damnacanthal that does this. When they added the Noni extract to RAS activated cancer cells they observed them daily for five days. What they saw was incredible, They reported that slowly, day by day the cells began to change their morphology (cell structure) back to normal. It is only on the basis of this kind of hard science that doctors can rely upon the ability of a plant extract to produce the return to good health now being seen clinically by people who have been struggling with cancer. No one knows if Noni will produce a return to good health for any specific person, but the research shows there is a scientific basis for believing that it is possible. The above represent only a sample of the research completed on the Noni. The results are conclusive in each case in showing the validity of the traditional use of Noni.
ANALGESIC AND BEHAVIORAL EFFECTS OF NONI
C. Younos, A. Rolland, J. Fleurentin, M. Lanhers, R. Misslin, F. Mortier Planta Medica 56 (1990) 430-434
In this study, the team lead by French scientist Chafique Younos, tested the analgesic and sedative effects of extracts from Noni. They were aware of the traditional use of Noni as a general analgesic, and set out to determine if those claims were valid. The extract was shown to be non-toxic and did show a significant, dose-related, central analgesic activity in the treated mice. This study included various experiments on the treated mice to determine the analgesic effect, if any, from the plant extracts of the Noni. The conclusion of these researchers was that the extract did in fact demonstrate analgesic effects consistently in each experiment. The conclusion of this study included a simple statement from the authors: These findings validate the traditional analgesic properties of Noni. The above represent only a sample of the research completed on Noni. The results are conclusive in each case in showing the validity of the traditional use of the Noni.

The call for change about how we care for ourselves are growing annually Noni Foundation is part of this movement
THE ONE AND ONLY SOLUTION TO INTERNAL POLLUTION IS PURIFICATION
LEARN HOW TO SUSTAIN THAT CLEANLINESS
The digestive system is the hub of the entire body. It feeds all our glands, organs and in fact, every single cell. When the digestive system become sluggish, over-acid, and toxic it becomes less and less efficient. After the bowel becomes unnaturally acidic, it attempts to protect itself by secreting a glycoprotein substance that lines the entire intestinal wall, mucoid plaque. Indeed, this condition can occur anywhere in the digestive tract where over acidity arises, including the esophagus, the stomach, the entire small intestine and colon. Once this develops, proper digestion becomes more and more dysfunctional and constipation also sets in. Then one problem occurs after another, and the bowel becomes a toxic sewer system. Once the bowel becomes toxic, the blood becomes toxic, for all the blood coming from the bowel, carrying the necessary nutrients to feed the heart, lungs, brain, muscles, etc. goes to the liver - nowhere else. Then the liver must deal with the toxic blood. After years of relentless toxicity from the bowel, the liver becomes more and more sluggish. After a while it no longer functions efficiently and toxic overloads begin to go to other parts of the body, such as the kidneys, heart, brain, joints, skin, Iymph, etc. Disease manifests where the toxins settle. For when there is toxic settlement, there is lack of circulation, lack of oxygen and nutrients.
THERE COMES A TIME EXECUSION IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THEORY
The reason most people never meet, nor enjoy, sustainable vigorous energetic youthful health is Confidence. They lack the self confidence that they can actually get it, meet it, do it, drop their bad health and therefore they don't. They never get to the source of their bad health; all they keep doing consistently is masking the symptoms, covering up sluggish declining health with pills, drugs, medications and multivitamins and minerals. When it comes to cleansing your intestinal tract, colon, stomach and other vital internal organs, bloodstream and lymph Noni cleansing digs deeper. No matter what your age is, attaining and sustaining vigorous energetic youthful health demands that you focus equally on Two processes 97 results for Constipation Over-the-Counter Medicine. That's a lot of quick-fixes that really don't work, that don't get to the source of the problems, thereby allowing the problems to spread and cause even more damage. Drugs and laxatives, BEWARE.

Every Cancer Patient has this toxic waste laying around inside of them. No wonder cancer has a chance to take over their body, tissues and cells. I'm not surprised, are you
The colon and lungs are paired organs, when the colon is afflicted the lungs are immediately afflicted too, and visa versa. That's why you'll find such a strong correlation between colon cancer and lung cancer. With lung cancer, almost always colon cancer is around, or lurking in the background and visa versa, If you're a smoker and you want to avoid lung cancer you better make sure to get this toxic mess out of your colon and continually be purifying your bloodstream before it starts burdening your lungs. Once the colon collapses, the lungs are next. They are paired organs. If you are tired of asthma and allergies, now you know why it has never ended even though you have taken tons of medications, drugs, used inhalers (which btw are toxic and have steroids) The colon-lung connection is where you need to take action. why shouldn't you be able to do so too ?

TAKE CHARGE OF OUR OWN BODIES
WHERE DOES BAD HEALTH START FROM
IT DOESN'T JUST FALL OUT OF THE SKY DOES IT
Unless you choose to reside in a remote mountain cave and live on nothing but wild fruit and spring water, there is no way to avoid the accumulation of toxic residues in your body. As long as the amount of toxin does not exceed the capacity of your excretory systems to eliminate it, health and vitality are easily maintained, but sooner or later the toxic overload of daily life exceeds your body's ability to properly cleanse itself of it, and that's when toxemia develops and disease and degeneration begin.
Noni Foundation reminds you the various forms of heart disease are primarily the result of toxic impurities clogging blood vessels. This deprives the heart muscles and valves of oxygen and puts excessive chronic strain on the heart, which has to pump much harder than normal to push blood through a clogged circulatory system, a healthy heart pumps about 3,000 gallons of blood every 24 hours, but a heart under the stress of a clogged circulatory system must pump up to 25,000 gallons in 24 hours just to maintain sufficient circulation; obviously, such an increase in heart strain soon leads to heart exhaustion and disease. The prime source of the blood impurities and deposits that cause heart disease is a diet composed entirely of denatured and cooked foods.

Dr. Mona Harrison received her medical training at the University of Maryland, Harvard University and the Boston University Medical Centers. She currently specializes in pediatrics and family medicine.
I have a real variety of patients who have benefitted from Noni, and it would seem to many people that something magical is happening here because it affects so many bodily systems. But there is a very scientific explanation for how something so simple, can have such widespread effects. Ancient manuscripts call the different glands in the body seals, and by a seal, we mean something which opens and closes. Ancient medical literature states that the glands actually operate according to frequency, a term which is becoming very popular these days in nuclear and quantum physics. The frequency of the glands was known thousands of years ago, but we have forgotten much of this information. In ancient terms, the pineal gland was called the sixth seal or sixth gland of the body. We have recently discovered that it stimulates two major hormones called serotonin and melatonin. The pineal gland controls the five other glands below it which are the thyroid which produces thyroxine to energize our cells, the thymus which protects you against infections and cancer, the pancreas which is involved with blood sugar and secreting the hormone insulin, the adrenal gland which responds every time you are under stress; and the first gland is the male and female sex organs and their hormones. Therefore restoring the sixth gland, the pineal gland, will have an impact on all those other glands and their functions in the body. When the pineal gland is at its peak performance, it turns a golden colour and emits a black juice as well as a golden oil. That black juice would be the melanin colour of the organs and every other area of the body which has a pigment.
It happens that Noni Concentrate mimics the secretion coming from the pineal gland, and in fact acts as a precursor to it, building it up and allowing it to function fully. Noni has a black colour, very similar to the melanin that gives colour or pigment to each one of our organs. Every place our body contains this pigment will be affected by Noni Concentrate. The back of the eye has a black area called the macula which is pigmented with melanin. That is the area the light hits when your eye opens. Many people have difficulty with blindness because they no longer make that beautiful colour in that spot. We have noted the Noni Concentrate makes the macula generate more pigment and the cells begin to return to normal, and the blindness reverses itself.
In the brain, that black stain is found in an area of the mid-brain called the substantia nigra, nigra standing for black. Diseases related to that area occur when it no longer receives pigment and begins to deteriorate. Diseases in this category are multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Appropriate function of the pineal gland is important in restoring those cells, and we are seeing patients reversing some of their neurological problems because the Noni is stimulating the production of chemicals essential to those areas of the brain.
The pancreas is also affected by Noni, the blood sugar and blood pressure begin to normalize. The pineal gland affects the different organs all the way down to the first glands, the male and female sex organs, and people are noticing for example that their prostate glands are beginning to shrink down to normal size once they have been on the Noni Concentrate for a short period of time. Women who have problems with fibroids are noticing that the fibroids are disappearing, that their menstruation is beginning to normalize, they have less cramps and their bleeding problems become more in balance.
DR. SCOTT GERSON M.D.
Dr. Gerson has practiced medicine in Manhattan for the last 15 years. He is uniquely educated, having received his M.D. from Mount Sinai Medical School in New York, and his doctorate in ayurvedic medicine in India. He is currently teaching our new medical doctors at some of the most prestigious medical schools in America about alternative approaches in medicine. Several months ago, he addressed the United Nations on "the state of herbs in the world today".
Several years ago, I was researching material for a book on the medicinal plants of India, and became interested in a family of plants known as Rubiaceae. Of particular interest was a plant known in Sanskrit as ach which was attributed special properties by ancient physicians. The fruit of this ach plant orNoni has a rich history in India where it has been used for tens of centuries in the system of medicine known as ayurveda. This holistic medical tradition was established in the north western part of India by a people called aryans who were reputed to be a rather cosmic civilization.Noni was especially esteemed by the ancient aryan physicians because it protected the skin from becoming dry and cracked from the sun. My investigation of the published scientific literature on Morinda Citrifolia yielded more than 100 articles pertaining to this medicinal plant. I soon discovered that the original home of the plant was not India at all, but rather Polynesia, Micronesia and the Hawaiian Islands. I first investigated what was known about the compounds in the Morinda Citrifolia fruit. Not surprisingly I found that several important active constituents were already identified which had beneficial effects in human physiology. Among the most intriguing were the carotenoids, bioflavonoids and anthraquinones as well as several other unknown substances which according to their chemical structures appeared to be accessory activating factors. At this point, I decided to take Noni Concentrate as a medicine on a regular basis myself. I had taken this direct experiential approach to learning about a plant medicine many times, as I had been taught to do in my training as an ayurvedic physician. It was late autumn, and although I was healthy, I was all too familiar with the pattern my physiology follows every year around this time. It always began with feelings of increasing stress, then bothersome skin eruptions, fatigue, mental irritability, bloating, constipation, and finally inevitably an upper respiratory infection, and it happened the same way every year. I reasoned that Noni might confer some protective action against disease through its significant anti-oxidant components. In the past, I had consumed medicinal preparations hundreds of times with many of these same constituents without any appreciable effects. As it turned out, there was a marked difference in my health that autumn. I was distinctly more alert, more energetic, more balanced, my skin was glowing more than I could ever recall and my digestion was improved immeasurably. I attributed the benefits of Noni to the interaction of the known components with the hitherto unknown components which perhaps work synergistically with all the other nutrients. The second part of my research is known as ethnobotony, where we seek out physicians or native healers who may have extensive experience in using a particular medicinal herb, and ask them what they use it for, how they prepare it, how successful it is and obtain direct information about its medical usefulness from people who have used it over many many years. The third aspect of my research process involves a thorough search of the current scientific and medical literature to determine whether any of the constituents of the plant in question are known to possess biological activity that may help shed some light on its effectiveness for the treatment of a certain disease or diseases. With regard to Noni, an interesting thing started to happen the more my research progressed. It seemed that the list of ailments for which Noni was used medically just grew and grew longer than almost any other medicinal plant that I have ever encountered. I was initially overwhelmed at how many medical indications this single plant has had in the Pacific Islands and south east Asian literature. A few of the medicinal uses are for digestive problems such as diarrhea, intestinal worms, nausea, food poisoning; respiratory problems such as congestive cough, dry cough, tuberculosis, cholera, infant chest colds and sore throat; cardiovascular problems, hypertension; inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, abscesses, mastitis, gout and other inflammatory joint conditions. It is a noted analgesic or pain reliever. One of the most common uses of Noni has been in the area of skin conditions, being utilized for wounds, ulcers, abscesses, ring worm, boils, cellulitis, swellings, scalp conditions and sores. It has been used in the treatment of tumours and broken bones, jaundice and other forms of liver disease. It has been used to treat asthma and dysentery, hypercholesterolemia, menstrual cramps, gastric ulcers and diabetes. Faced with such a diverse list of physiologically distinct conditions, the conventionally oriented physician might be tempted to completely dismiss these reports as unsubstantiated folk tales. We are conditioned to believe that any important medicinal substance should have one or at most two applications. How could one plant be used to treat so many pathological conditions? To answer these questions, it was time to turn to the scientific research involving Morinda Citrafolia (Noni). Research at the University of Hawaii's Biomedical Sciences Department showed that extracts of Noni contained a naturally occurring component which activates serotonin receptors in the brain and throughout the body. Serotonin is a neuroendocrine compound which along with its receptors is found in high levels in the brain, the blood platelets and the lining of the digestive tract. It is well established that serotonin is an important brain neurotransmitter, and plays a significant role in temperature regulation, sleep, hunger and sexual behaviour. Serotonin deficiency has been implicated in a number of pathological conditions including migraine headaches, obesity, depression and Alzheimer's disease. Modern pharmaceutical medicine has had some success with the use of serotonin analogues in the treatment of certain diseases. I am sure many of you are familiar with the drug Prozac which is used to treat depression; another is used to treat acute migraine headaches. Both of these synthetic drugs specifically target and bind to serotonin receptors. The problem with both of these substances and with all synthetically manufactured pharmaceuticals which isolate one active ingredient is the great incidents of adverse side effects. Natural products likeNoni Concentrate in its unprocessed complete form do not generally have adverse effects. The presence of a wide range of other naturally occurring substances which are present in some way regulates and modifies its effects. Research at the University of Metz in France, demonstrated the central analgesic activity of Noni to alleviate pain of many types. Moderate doses of Noni was measured to be about 75% as effective as an equivalent dose of morphine sulfate. Since 1961, we have known that various parts of the Noni tree contains several different varieties of bitter plant compounds known as anthraquinones. Plants containing anthraquinones have literally been used for millennia due to their medicinal properties. Most noted are significant antiseptic (antibacterial) effect to disease causing bacteria in the intestinal tract. This compound is especially toxic to the pathogens Shigela and Salmonella. Anthraquinones are also particularly effective against many forms of Staphylococcus, a major cause of many skin infections which sometimes infect the valves of the heart. Furthermore anthraquinones in Noni prompt the digestive secretions of the stomach and small intestines, stimulate bile flow and promote the activity of the entire digestive process. However, it is the activity of one specific anthraquinone, damnacanthal which has been shown in vitro to actually reverse cancer cell proliferation at the gene level. The research has demonstrated that one isolated component found in Noni turned off the signal for tumour cells to proliferate. The study was reported in 1993 from a very reputable laboratory in Kao University Yokohama, Japan. It was originally believed that one compound which had been isolated was responsible for all the many biological effects. The compound which has a chemical formula of C10H8O4 is known as scopoletin. Both Noni and scopoletin are known to reduce blood pressure, have anti-inflammatory activity, exhibit antibiotic activity, antifungal activity and possess anti-tumour effects.
